Here is a picture of the road down a hill to I90 coming from Devil's Tower, then we took the road through Spearfish Canyon on the way home and took some pictures of the area, including waterfalls and finally a picture of the T-Shirt I got from Devil's Tower. We had 2 beautiful days off and enjoyed them.

New Tour-Wyoming!
We had Thursday and Friday off this week and that looks like what days we will have off for most of the summer. On Thursday, we went to Keystone to look and shop. We will go back again, as there is much to see there. Then in the evening, we had one of the other workamper couples over for dinner. I did trout on the grill, and April made a nice salad, potato wedges, and banana bread. We had a good time visiting and relaxing. Then we went to see the laser light show at Crazy Horse. The end was really nice, but most of the rest was boring.
On Friday we headed to Devil's Tower, Wyoming. Got some good pictures, but didn't know there was some fingerprints on the lens, so they didn't turn out real crisp, but are ok. Here is a picture from about 12 miles away, then one from the trading post parking lot, a couple of other ones of the 1st national monument, and a sign that cowboys must pay attention to! I also saw a sign there that said "This restroom is clean. Men-Your aim will help. Please stand close, it is not as long as you think. Women-Please remain seated for the entire performance." Very funny.

Saturday June 19, 2010
We went to visit the Crazy Horse Memorial today. They were having a native indian crafts show and sale. Dennis even found items made with Llama hair. I found April 2 pair of dream-catcher earrings too. After lunch we went to Keystone-home of Mount Rushmore. We parked and walked around downtown. We found many nice shops. There is a chainsaw workcarver too. Dennis even found rugs made from alpaca hair! Boy, he sure must miss home. I hope he had at least some fun. I kept bugging him to go do something-anything, but he wanted to just visit too. We had a nice fire Friday night with fresh brats on the grill. The weather was good for his visit, but as soon as he left we again started with the rain. We were sure glad he could arrange his schedule to take the time to visit us.

More From Mount Rushmore National Memorial
The mountain is huge. The faces are 60 feet high. We approached the monument on Iron Mountain Road which has the pigtail bridges as well as tunnels that when driving through them frame Mount Rushmore. We had a good day and even enjoyed some ice cream! Not sure what we will see/visit on Saturday, but it looks like the weather will be about the same (hopefully).
We Even Found A Large Herd!
We stopped for a pop on our ride Friday and someone told us to take a narrow dirt road (had to find a wide spot in the road to let someone go by) and we would see a herd of Buffalo-they just came from there and it was only a couple of miles up. So we found it. Easily over 100 of them! As we got closer to them, we realized that we were surrounded as they were crossing the road both in front of us and behind us and even snorting! Several babies were with them. We had to pick when to stop and when we had to move it!

Today's Photos 6-7-10
Well, we had a chance today to set up a small garden area in front of the house. I also took a picture along the trail behind the campground with some trees with flowers out-spring has arrived, I think. Also, here is one of the pine trees with some interesting growths, not sure if they are pine nuts, baby pinecones, or going to be pine needles or something else. And a picture of my medal and checkpoint pass from Saturdays walk. Have a good day.

The Finish Line, Whew!
Here is a view through the tunnel, a couple more pictures of the journey and the finish line! Wow. What a day, and it is not even noon yet! It took us 2 hours to get to the face, but we got to take the road down all the way to the visitor center, and that only took about an hour! Could have saved two miles by taking the road both ways instead of wandering through the woods and mountains just to get to the road to go up the Crazy Horse Mountain. Oh well, I think they did it so it would equal a 10K hike. Anyways, we can check that off our list. (-:
Proof we made it
Well this is what you been waiting for, a picture of us at the top of the arm in front of the face of Crazy Horse! We really did both make it! It is huge! And we are up high. You can see a long ways. I sent Lisa a pic from my phone from here and called mom, but the call got dropped as I went behind the head. See you at the bottom!
