More From the Wildlife Loop

First Wildlife Loop Trip this year

Yesterday, I bought my annual state park permit and went on the wildlife loop. It was a rainy, misty, foggy day, but I did see some of Lisa's favorite's and when they quickly found out I did not have any treats, they moved on to the next car after a little scratching on my mirror. Note: the words on my mirror--it is true! I even saw a couple of babies.

Again this year?

Here is photos of our new bridge across the creek. Oops, this is what happens when you get buckets of rain and inches of snow and it all melts in less than 24 hours. Flooded again this year. Well at least I am in a spot about 2 feet higher than last year. We just got the bridge stained on Wednesday. Now it looks like a fishing pier not a bridge.

Sylvan Lake and some critters

Here is Sylvan Lake and some turkeys and prong horn I saw today. I didn't go on the wildlife loop this trip. Enjoy.

Needles Highway

More from the top on Needles Highway.

I went up needles highway today. Here are some cool corners with signs pointing towards each other, depending on what way you are going. Also, here is the hole in the wall picnic area. And a couple of other pics by cathedral spires. I forgot Brandy doesn't like the curves back and forth, up and down too much. So next time I will go alone.

Snow Day!

What a difference a few days makes! We were supposed to get heavy rain today, well, I guess they were right about the heavy part. Brandy didn't mind one bit. In fact, she hyped out wildly in the white stuff. You can see where we mowed on the hill in one of the pictures. We also lost power at least 5 times so far, but the longest time was about an hour. It has changed now to mostly rain, but as night approaches, it is supposed to change back to snow again. Less than 5 miles towards Rapid City, there is not any snow, just rain when I went to Walmart earlier. Flood watches are out and so is a winter storm warning and watches. But is supposed to get back into the 50's tomorrow afternoon.
