Well, we had a chance today to set up a small garden area in front of the house. I also took a picture along the trail behind the campground with some trees with flowers out-spring has arrived, I think. Also, here is one of the pine trees with some interesting growths, not sure if they are pine nuts, baby pinecones, or going to be pine needles or something else. And a picture of my medal and checkpoint pass from Saturdays walk. Have a good day.

The Finish Line, Whew!
Here is a view through the tunnel, a couple more pictures of the journey and the finish line! Wow. What a day, and it is not even noon yet! It took us 2 hours to get to the face, but we got to take the road down all the way to the visitor center, and that only took about an hour! Could have saved two miles by taking the road both ways instead of wandering through the woods and mountains just to get to the road to go up the Crazy Horse Mountain. Oh well, I think they did it so it would equal a 10K hike. Anyways, we can check that off our list. (-:
Proof we made it
Well this is what you been waiting for, a picture of us at the top of the arm in front of the face of Crazy Horse! We really did both make it! It is huge! And we are up high. You can see a long ways. I sent Lisa a pic from my phone from here and called mom, but the call got dropped as I went behind the head. See you at the bottom!

Ok the next five posts will be more of the Crazy Horse Memorial walk/climb. Here is April resting on a rock before another steep climb, the mountain as we came from around behind it, another time for a breather, getting closer, and coming around to the other side where we finally started to climb the mountain.
Day off, so climb 6 miles just for fun
Well, I have been very busy working split shifts-(4 to 6 hours in mornings and 5-8 hours at night) so we haven't had too much time for most anything. But we got today off and went on a hike. Really, 6.2 miles? Yep. Mostly uphill too. And not just any hill, Crazy Horse Memorial Mountain! Wow, I am so proud of April as you will see we both made it up the hill. This is at the start. One with April before the climb, one with the scale model sculpture with the mountain in the back, one just after the start heading into the mountain woods, one getting closer-about an hour into the trek (look close and you will see people already on the arm), and one of April partway into the climb.
